Work Faster with the Application Shortcut Keys

While working on a computer application, some tasks can be done more quickly using shortcut keys instead of using the mouse. Even, some application shortcut keys can be used universally regardless of what application is being used. Most of these universal shortcuts using the control key (Ctrl) combination.

Here are some universal application shortcut keys to make your work faster:
  • Ctrl+N: Create a new document or window.
  • Ctrl+X: Cut the selected text or region and place it on the clipboard.
  • Ctrl+C: Copy the selected text or region onto the clipboard.
  • Ctrl+V: Paste the contents of the clipboard.
  • Ctrl+Z: Undo the last action.
  • Ctrl+S: Save the current document to disk.
  • F1: Load the online help document for the application.
