You probably will find a special button on your keyboard, a key with Windows logo. Windows logo key is a special control key. You can press this key or combine it with other keys to perform a special task.

Please note, the range of functions resulting from this combination of Windows logo key depending on your operating system type. There might be some functions that can not be run on older versions of Windows operating system. Even in other operating systems like Linux, this Windows logo key can be used for specific purposes. This time we will focus on the use of Windows logo key on the Windows 7 operating system.




The following is a list of Windows Logo Key shortcuts to control your Windows 7 operating system:
  • Windows logo key: Open or close the Start menu.
  • Windows logo key + Pause: Display the System Properties dialog box.
  • Windows logo key + D: Display the desktop.
  • Windows logo key + M: Minimize all windows.
  • Windows logo key + Shift + M: Restore minimized windows to the desktop.
  • Windows logo key + E: Open Computer.
  • Windows logo key + F: Search for a file or folder.
  • Ctrl + Windows logo key + F: Search for computers (if you're on a network).
  • Windows logo key + L: Lock your computer or switch users.
